RAD Club dances will once again be happening in Sale and Bairnsdale in 2008. We are currently working out dates, themes and more.
Are you interested in helping organise dances? People with disaiblities, carers, students etc are all welcome on the RAD committee. Selling raffle tickets, setting up decorations, playing music and organising supper are all important volunteer jobs that help make RAD dances so much fun for everyone. Do you play an instrument or sing? A group of people with disabilities in Bairnsdale are starting a band. Rehearsals are on Tuesday nights 4.30 - 6.30pm in Bairnsdale. The group is planning to play mostly rock and roll type music at a variety of venues including RAD dances. New members are welcome to audition. Contact EGARAG for more details.
Telstra’s Call Connect service is available by phoning 1234. Simply call the number, state the name of the person or business you wish to speak to and the town or suburb. Telstra will connect you, without you needing to write down the number then dialling. Great for those times when you just can’t find a pen that works! People with disabilities can register with Telstra to use the Call Connect service, free of connection fees - you will just need to pay for the normal call cost. Contact Telstra for more details.
The National Disability Abuse and Neglect Hotline is open 8am-8pm, 7 days a week. People with disability, family, friends and carers can confidentially report abuse or neglect. Your report will be referred to the appropriate agency to investigate. Abuse can include physical, sexual, emotional, financial abuse, unlawful use of constraint, denial of rights or choices, failure to provide adequate services, food, shelter etc. Contact the Hotline by:
